Lift Engineer

Lift Installation Engineer, Lift Installation, Lift Modernisation, New Lift Projects
Orpington, South East London
Basic Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Additional Earnings: Paid travel, paid overtime

Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lift Installation Engineer (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) to join a well-established independent lift engineering company that delivers new lift installations and modernisation projects across London and the South East.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business specialising in high-quality lift installations, working on a varied portfolio of commercial, residential, and local authority projects. You'll benefit from a strong pipeline of work, continued technical development, and the opportunity to work with independent, open protocol lift systems.


Commutable from: South East London, Bromley, Bexley, Dartford, Sidcup, Orpington, Croydon, Greenwich, Lewisham, Eltham, Woolwich, Gravesend, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities of a Lift Engineer:

  • Carry out the installation, modernisation, and commissioning of passenger and goods lifts across a range of projects.
  • Install lift equipment, controllers, and associated electrical and mechanical components in accordance with industry standards.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and installation specifications.
  • Work with hard-wired control systems and independent, open protocol lift equipment.
  • Complete installation documentation accurately while maintaining high standards of workmanship and health & safety.
  • Liaise professionally with site teams, contractors, and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely and on schedule.

Requirements of a Lift Engineer:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent) & ER202 certification - Essential
  • Full UK driving licence - Essential
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in lift installations, modernisations, and new lift projects - Essential.
  • Experience working with independent, open protocol systems rather than closed manufacturer platforms.
  • Strong background working with hard-wired control systems.
  • Experience delivering projects to heavy-duty and local authority specifications.
  • Live within a commutable distance of London, preferably South East London.
