Job description

Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery the stuff dreams are made of. Who We Are When we say, the stuff dreams are made of, were not just referring to the world of wizards, dragons and superheroes, or even to the wonders of Planet Earth. Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive. Our studios are considered one of the foremost motion picture and television production and post-production facilities in the world. They inform, engage, and transport audiences to new worlds. The key to that lies with our Studio Operations group, which includes areas like soundstage/backlot set rentals, events, design, culinary, construction, landscaping and much more. Whether its hosting an unforgettable studio tour, creating an optimal workspace, or equipping talent to tell the best stories, these teams lay the foundation for the memorable experiences we provide. Your New Role... Help us bring premier content to lifeand join Warner Bros. Discovery as a Projectionist, playing a key role behind the scenes of our world-class screening facilities at Soho Square. From preparing and quality-checking content to operating cutting-edge digital cinema technology, you'll ensure every screening is delivered flawlessly. Working closely with post-production teams, colourists, producers, and clients, you'll be at the centre of bringing creative visions to the big screen while providing a first-class experience for everyone who walks through our doors. Your Role Accountabilities... Prepare, ingest, and manage content, ensuring all content is correctly formatted, verified, and ready for playback. Carry out pre-screening checks of picture and sound to ensure correct aspect ratio, resolution, audio routing, and overall presentation quality. Configure and operate our digital cinema servers and projection systems in our screening rooms. Perform quality control (QC) checks on all content, identifying and reporting issues such as artefacts, sync errors, subtitle faults, or playback issues. Assist with image and sound calibration of our equipment to maintain DCI compliance. Collaborate with post-production producers, colourists, and clients on booking schedules so that screenings run smoothly, as well as all technical requirements are met. Be responsible for meeting clients before screenings. Be part of the team of Fire Wardens to assist in ensuring the safety of all personnel on site. Qualifications & Experiences... Strong knowledge of cinema projection audio and video standards, including Dolby Atmos, 5.1 and 7.1 audio configurations, as well as presentation formats such as Scope, Flat, and Full Frame. Solid understanding of Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs), including CPLs and KDMs, with experience in ingesting, validating, and key management. Working knowledge of cinema projection systems, automation equipment, media servers, and audio processing hardware. Broad understanding of video image fundamentals, including codecs, compression, colour spaces, frame rates, aspect ratios, dynamic range, and video signal levels. Solid understanding of professional cinema audio systems, including multichannel formats, signal routing, and sync to ensure accurate sound reproduction. Good knowledge of common digital video and audio file formats used in professional cinema and post-production environments. Ability to carry out basic fault finding for picture and sound issues, including artefacts, channel mapping errors, audio sync problems, and subtitle inconsistencies. Competent in performing basic technical checks and measurements, including SPL verification and colour calibration assessment. Able to work within a shift pattern as well as ad hoc timings that may include evenings and weekends. #SO Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
