Speech and Language Therapist (Experts at Hand) - CFHD CFHD are lookingto recruit four 1.0wte Speech and Language Therapists to providespecialist Speech and Language Therapy support within the Experts at Handservice through advice, consultation, modelling of strategies, training, andtargeted intervention. The base locations for these will be in Exeter, North or South Devon. The post-holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team andautonomously to support children and young people, families, and professionalsby building capacity within early years, school and post-16 settings,delivering training, and offering time-limited direct interventions whereindicated. Main duties of the job The speech andlanguage therapy service within CFHD have transformed to work within theBalanced System framework. The Speech, Language and Communication pathway consists of Speech andLanguage Therapists and Therapy Assistants working across Devon and Torbay. The aim of the team is to ensurethat specialist support is easily accessible within the community settings,providing both direct support to children, young people and families, and tothe wider community teams. Everyone in the team is providedwith regular supervision, opportunities for training and development. Person Specification Experience * Relevant experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs in community / education settings * Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to working with children * Well established knowledge of a broad range of appropriate therapeutic interventions to treat children * Understanding of the principles of clinical governance /audit * Understanding of the roles of other professionals (relevant to the client group) * Knowledge of standards of record keeping Qualifications * Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent * Health Professions Council Licence to Practice * Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists * Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
