About the Role
\n Monarch Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Chesterfield from September 2026.

\n This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people who require additional behavioural, social, and emotional support. The role involves supporting pupils with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and other barriers to learning. The school is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every pupil can achieve success both academically and personally.

\n As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and SEND professionals to support pupils in managing their behaviour, developing positive relationships, and engaging successfully in learning. You will play a key role in promoting positive outcomes and helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence.

Requirements
\n Experience working with children or young people in education, childcare, youth work, support work, care, or similar settings.
\n A genuine passion for supporting pupils with behavioural and additional learning needs.
\n Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
\n A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
\n Ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and colleagues.
\n Confidence in managing challenging behaviour appropriately and effectively.
\n Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable
\n Previous experience working as a Behaviour Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
\n Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or additional needs.
\n Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and restorative practices.
\n Understanding of SEND and inclusive educational approaches.
\n Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs.
\n Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Psychology, Health & Social Care, Youth Work, or a related field.
