Job description

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work or a long-term role within a mainstream primary school?

Protocol Education is working in partnership with a number of welcoming mainstream primary schools and is looking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants for both daily supply and long-term opportunities.

Whether you're looking for the flexibility of supply work or the consistency of a long-term placement, we have a range of opportunities available across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils and teachers within the classroom. Duties may include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Working with individual pupils and small intervention groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and lesson preparation
  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged and make progress in their learning
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Helping to prepare classroom resources and maintain an organised learning space

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school
  • Be confident supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be adaptable, proactive and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Work well as part of a team and use their own initiative
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
  • Be able to provide references covering recent school-based experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
