The POCT Team provides an essential, high-quality service across Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and associated community settings. The team supports a wide range of POCT devices and delivers training and ongoing support to service users.
The Hospital at Home service provides hospital-level care for patients with acute conditions in their own homes, as an alternative to an acute hospital admission. Working as part of the POCT team, the post holder will support the management, deployment and maintenance of POCT equipment and consumables used within the service, helping to ensure safe, effective and responsive patient care across the community.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in POCT while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support an innovative and expanding community healthcare service.
Main duties of the job
This post is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with clinical teams, is a charismatic and engaging individual. We are looking for someone who has HCPC registration, previous POCT experience, great communication and presentation skills. Candidates should also have excellent organisational skills, be self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and work effectively as part of a team and perform well under pressure. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to achieving the highest professional standards and have proof of engagement with continuous professional development processes.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science ratified by the IBMS
- Registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
Experience

- POCT or Laboratory Experience
Skills & Knowledge

- Comprehensive POCT or Blood Science Laboratory Theory
- QMS (Including Quality control and Assurance)
- Knowledge of health and safety risks & requirements
Desirable criteria
- IT (including basic Microsoft packages)
