Job description
We have an exciting opportunity foran experienced Orthotist to join our team at an exciting time of growth andtransformation. We have taken on a new contract that covers 4 hospitals inLincolnshire in Lincoln, Boston, Louth and Grantham. This role is to work predominantlywithin our new Orthotics clinic in Pilgrim Hospital Boston and their associatedlocal satellites but may require travel to other areas in this contract asreasonably required by the company. As an HCPC registered clinician within Opcare, you willcompetently and confidently assess, prescribe, and fit orthotic and or prosthetic devices forroutine patient presentations, across a range of clinical settings. You will work autonomouslywithin your scope of practice to manage appropriate interventions, ensuring high-quality,patient-centred care. In addition to direct clinical responsibilities, you will actively contributeto service development and quality improvement initiatives under guidance. In addition, youwill support the professional development, mentorship, and supervision of graduate andundergraduate colleagues. All activities will be undertaken in line with NHS values andOpcares commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care. Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities Delivers autonomous, patient centred care,independently managing routine and moderately complex cases, and seekingguidance for more challenging situations. Applies sound clinical reasoning and experienceacross patient groups to ensure accurate device design, fitting, and adjustmentusing clinical and technical skills. Contributes to audits, service evaluations andresearch activities with guidance as needed, supporting data collection andreflective learning. Manages clinical equipment and resourcesresponsibly, with awareness of cost effectiveness and service sustainability. Maintainsaccurate clinical records and contributes to audits and quality improvementinitiatives to support safe, effective, and continuously evolving patient care. Skills and Experience Highly developed interpersonal skills including formal and informal communication Proven record of working within an active, fastpaced clinical environment Experience of having collaborative role in anMDT environment Working proactively and collaboratively in theteam and wider trust Interest in service development and or evidenceof involvement Able to prioritise, plan and organiseefficiently and work with multiple conflicting priorities. Experience with CAD CAM or digital workflows. Experience mentoring students or clinical staff. Ability to work within multidisciplinary teamsand handle complex cases. Adheres to clinical prescription guidelines to ensure safe, effective and appropriate patient care. Effectively plans and prioritises caseload to meet service delivery targets, managing time and multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic clinical environment. Mentors less experienced staff, supports student and apprentice placements and actively participates in training and team learning.
