Join Us in Making a Difference at Marie Curie

We’re looking for a passionate and relationship-led Philanthropy Manager to join our ambitious Philanthropy Team. This role sits in a key strategic area for Marie Curie, with investment and commitment to grow our Philanthropy programme. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves being externally focused, building meaningful relationships and staying closely connected to the cause.

In this role, you’ll focus on high-value donor relationships, typically between £10,000 and £50,000, with opportunities to support larger six-figure gifts. You’ll identify, cultivate and steward major donors, working closely with senior volunteers, colleagues and teams across the charity to create strong, long-term supporter relationships

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing and growing a portfolio of major donors and prospects.
  • Building strong, long-term relationships to increase supporter engagement and income.
  • Creating compelling donor proposals, presentations and funding requests.
  • Leading donor meetings and supporting high-quality fundraising events.
  • Working with senior volunteers, internal stakeholders and colleagues to maximise fundraising opportunities.
  • Using CRM systems to track donor activity, pipeline, income forecasts and performance.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with strong relationship-building skills and experience managing donor or supporter relationships. You’ll be confident working with a range of stakeholders, writing compelling proposals and working towards ambitious targets.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience developing and maintaining effective donor relationships.
  • Strong communication, networking and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to write high-quality proposals and funding materials.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage detail.
  • An understanding of philanthropy and donor motivations.
  • A willingness to travel across the UK to meet donors, prospects and colleagues.

Experience securing significant gifts from individuals would be a real advantage.

  • Flexible working. We’re happy to discuss flexible working at the interview stage.
  • 25 days annual leave (exclusive of Bank Holidays)
