Job summary
An exciting opportunity have arisen for staff looking to progress their career and become a Clinical Team Educator (CTE) in Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Sector of SCAS, this covers the Ambulance Resource Centers of North Harbour and Petersfield.

The Clinical Team Educator role is a pivotal position in the development of the area's existing operational staff of all grades and visiting students, being responsible for their clinical supervision and professional development while liaising and working alongside the Education Department. You will become a key player as part of the area management team that will help to demonstrate and champion the behaviours linked to the key values of: Team Working, Caring, Innovation and Professionalism.

Main duties of the job
You must be qualified as an HCPC Registered Paramedic / NMC Nurse, working at Band 6 level.

You must be a team player, accept responsibility and be a confident decision maker. You must be passionate in the development of newly trained staff and the maintenance of excellent standards. You will possess good interpersonal and communications skills. You will need to be competent in basic IT and capable of logical thinking, practical problem-solving, objective assessment skills and report writing. You must also be able to motivate and support others.

Corporate Induction
It's really important for us to ensure you have the best onboarding experience which allows you to feel a sense of belonging from the start. To help with this, we will book your Corporate Induction as soon as we possibly can (depending on availability).

All new starters need to attend our *Corporate Induction in person, this is held over one and half days from our educational centres based in: Newbury (Berkshire), Bicester (Oxfordshire) or Whiteley (Hampshire). More specific details will be sent to you once your start date has been confirmed.

*Please note - depending on your role additional training may be required following on from your corporate induction.

Note: you will need to meet the essential criteria as a minimum in order for your application to be shortlisted. You must have completed your Consolidation of Learning Portfolio as part of the NQP programme and have demonstrable experience of working as a Paramedic.

The talent pool will be used by the locality recruiting managers to offer any further substantive positions, secondments or development opportunities. This talent pool only covers positions which become available in the next six months within the locality of Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Emergency Operations, any successful result or inclusion in a talent pool from this recruitment process is non-transferable to any other vacancy advertised within SCAS.

Interview scores from the CTE development opportunity process held on the 8th June and 9th June cannot be transferred into this recruitment vacancy.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Evidence of on-going professional development.
  • Formal Leadership qualification or demonstrable level of experience.
  • Registered HCPC Paramedic or RGN Nurse with demonstrable experience (2 years post registration experience including preceptorship training and Newly Qualified Paramedic (NQP) period).
  • IHCD or FutureQuals Emergency Response Driving qualification

Desirable
  • Operational commanders course (NARU or equivalent)

Knowledge
Essential
  • Leadership / Management experience in an operational function.
  • Experience of objective setting and performance management
  • Experience in analysing data and delivering presentations based on the information
  • Understanding of NHS developments and their impact on the Trust, together with knowledge of locality based decision makers and influencing bodies.
  • Knowledge of the challenges facing health and social care.
