Gas Engineer

Lancing based covering Sussex and Kent

£44,347 - £46,681 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm

We are looking for a highly motivated Gas Engineer to join our South East Gas team delivering high-quality gas installation, service and repair work across Sussex and Kent working closely with experienced engineers and apprentices.

The successful candidate will primarily carry out domestic gas boiler and central heating installations across our properties. In addition to installation work they will support the wider team by undertaking, servicing, breakdown diagnosis and repairs when operational demand requires.

You will be provided with a company van and all the power and essential tools needed for the job. You will also be issued with an iPhone and tablet which links to our systems including scheduling and fault reporting.

The role of

Gas Engineer

will include: Carrying out installations, fault finding, maintenance duties, installation and commissioning of gas central heating systems, in accordance with contract and service specifications Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations in accordance with contract and service specifications Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed, in line with agreed processes and within contract and service specifications Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed, in accordance with the agreed requisition procedures and budgets Contributing as appropriate to special programmes and projects in support of the Groups values and objectives

Skills and experiences: To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1 Unvented - G3 Certificate, Water Regulations Energy efficiency qualification (WRAS) or currently undertaking the qualification. Unvented Hot Water Qualification UDHW is also essential. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted Recent experience of undertaking a similar role Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions Working knowledge of building regulations, particularly Part L Energy Efficiency Working knowledge of the installation, servicing and maintenance of gas heating system Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence for a minimum of 12 months
