Job summary
We are a dedicated and cohesive neonatal AHP team delivering high-quality, evidence-based developmental care for babies and their families. We at Leeds Children's have received substantive funding provided by NHS England to enhance our neonatal and neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy service. The successful candidates will be joining an established team of experienced physiotherapists covering the Leeds Neonatal Units and Neurodevelopmental follow up within outpatient and clinic settings, providing highly specialised care to support the management of high-risk babies from preterm to 2 years.

We are looking for Physiotherapists with significant post registration experience of at least 5 years within Paediatric physiotherapy and broad experience within the acute paediatric settings.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of specialist neonatal physiotherapy support within the model of Family Integrated Care to infants and families across both Neonatal Units within Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

Main duties of the job
  • The post holder will work as part of the children's physiotherapy team, providing highly specialised care to support the management of babies and children with neurological development delay from preterm to 2 years.
  • The post holder will work closely with the Neonatal Multidisciplinary teams to provide assessment and treatment of patients on the Neonatal unit, clinics Nursery and Home and outpatients.
  • They will provide leadership within the childrens Physiotherapy teams demonstrating a high standard of leadership skills and behaviours.
  • Based at the Leeds Children's Hospital, the post holder will support the inpatient therapists and outpatient service for management of these patients and liaise closely with other hospitals and community services for on going management of these patients. The post holder will act as the link person for the families in this service.
  • Key relationships will be with other physiotherapists at both Leeds and the regional hospitals including the paediatric physiotherapy team, Occupational therapy team, specialist nurses, medical staff, dietician, psychologist, speech and language therapist, play therapist, community services, social services and education services.
  • The post holder will contribute to the paediatric out of hours service at the Leeds Childrens Hospital.
