FD Recruit is working exclusively with a privately owned specialist construction and plant hire group based in South Staffordshire, between Wolverhampton and Cannock, to appoint a Group Finance Director. The group has grown consistently year on year, with turnover now approaching £25M across multiple companies, and this appointment is a direct result of that growth. The owners have ambitious plans to go significantly further, and they want a finance leader alongside the CEO to shape and support that next phase.
This is a group role in structure - multiple entities, consolidation, intercompany - but an SME in character. You will be the number one in finance, a member of the senior leadership team working closely with the CEO and the wider executive, responsible for everything from strategy at the boardroom table to the quality of the month‑end close, without a larger group function behind you. For the right person, that breadth and ownership is precisely the appeal.
