Job description

The Engineering Manager – Advanced Technology & Project Execution is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering advanced technology development programs from concept through technology maturation. Reporting to the Senior R&D Manager, this role combines engineering leadership, project execution, technical coordination, resource planning, and financial management to ensure successful delivery of complex R&D initiatives.

This leader will oversee engineers supporting a diverse portfolio of technologies, including Control Systems, Propulsion, Power Systems, Photonics, Optical Technologies, and other emerging engineering disciplines. The role requires a broad engineering background with the ability to understand complex technical challenges at a systems level and effectively coordinate execution across multiple engineering functions.

Operating within a global matrix organization, the Engineering Manager will work closely with technical leaders, program managers, finance, and business leadership to drive execution, remove barriers, manage priorities, and deliver technology on schedule and within budget. For specialized engineering disciplines, technical functional leadership will be provided through matrix relationships with subject matter experts and engineering managers, allowing this role to focus on execution, integration, and delivery.

Success in this role is measured by the ability to integrate multidisciplinary engineering teams, execute complex technology development programs, and consistently deliver technical commitments through strong planning, communication, leadership, and operational discipline.

Join a company that's reintroducing itself to the aviation community we've helped advance for more than a century. At Honeywell Aerospace (NASDAQ: HONA), we're launching as an independent, publicly traded aerospace and defense company built on a legacy of operational excellence and mission-focused execution.

Our new brand identity pairs that heritage with real momentum, as we build technology that helps pilots navigate with confidence, aircraft operate more efficiently, and operators stay ahead of change. With our systems on board 90% of the world's aircraft, your work here has reach that's rare to find anywhere else.

Focusing on our customers, investing in innovation, and building a culture of accountability and performance is how we're shaping what comes next.

Every horizon. Every mission. Every day.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Lead execution of advanced technology development programs.
  • Establish execution rigor through integrated schedules, milestones, ownership, resource plans, risk registers, and measurable definitions of success.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Lead engineering resource planning and capacity management.
  • Coordinate labor forecasting, budgets, cost tracking, and financial execution.

Key skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience leading engineering teams in an R&D, aerospace, defense, or advanced technology environment.
  • Strong engineering foundation with systems-level thinking.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects.
  • Experience with resource planning, financial coordination, and engineering execution.

Our Offer

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies with global impact.
  • A collaborative and innovative environment within a world-leading technology company.
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities.
