Job description
Humanities Divisional Office, Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG Contract type 3-year fixed-term Hours Full time (37.5 hours per week), or part-time (0.8 FTE minimum) About the role Are you an enthusiastic, inspirational professional with experience of managing learning and engagement programmes for schools, children, young people and educators? The Humanities Division is seeking an experienced programming and engagement manager to develop and lead the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities’ new schools engagement programme. This role is an excellent opportunity for an energetic, proactive and collaborative individual who is passionate about the many ways in which the arts and humanities can benefit the lives, education and future careers of young people and educators. About you As an experienced manager of engagement programmes for schools and young people, you will develop, coordinate and deliver a sector-leading schools engagement programme grounded in humanities research. To do this, you will • collaborate with divisional leadership, professional services and academics to develop an exciting, thriving schools engagement programme; • undertake operational responsibility for the programme, ensuring the successful planning and delivery of a range of activities for young people and educators; • manage delivery of outstanding events and online resources to support both in-person and hybrid learning for learners of all ages; • ensure the sustainability of the schools engagement programme and its work, including by writing funding bids and fundraising for programme activities, as required. This role is a transformative opportunity for candidates with prior experience as an arts and humanities educator or learning and engagement manager with significant experience in a learning and outreach or youth engagement programming in the cultural sector. Knowledge of Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 curricula and familiarity with GCSE and A Level programmes will be an advantage once in post. Applicants will be required to successfully pass a DBS check and pre-employment screening prior to appointment.
