We are hiringa Senior Developer to join our teams in theDoncasterhub. You will be placed at the heart of the customer journey managing the secure high-volume systems that powerPaymentsDelivery andCustomer Registration for one of the largest online retail platforms in the UK. Your code will directly handle millions of transactions supporting over 10 million active customers across more than 150 international sites.

You will join ourCheckout Deliveryteam focusing on the crucial step of delivery selection working with external services to provide accurate options and expectations for our global customer base. Solving complex logistical problems by orchestrating real-time delivery logic working with external services to provide accurate and globally scalable options across 70 international markets.

What Youll Take On:

You will be a key player in our multi-year strategic programme to refactor core monolith functionality into modern cloud-native services. This role is not just maintenance; it isplatform engineering at retail scale requiring an active contribution to technical design architecture review and the implementation of resilient highly-available systems inAzure.

You will work on highly visible features as part of cross-functional projects. This involves engaging with complex mixed codebases - from legacy monoliths to modern cloud-based architectures. This role requires pace technical expertise and a can-do attitude to meet hard deadlines and deliver high-impact performant features.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Delivery: Write test and deploy high-quality code from concept through to delivery and beyond.
• Problem Solving: Apply imaginative solutions to complex problems in a demanding fast-paced retail environment.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with Product Owners and necessary departments across the business.
• Support: Provide development support to internal users and offer out-of-hours cover on a rota basis.

Our Product-led teams operate with a high degree of autonomy. What Youll Bring:

Required Technical Stack

• Proficient in Microsoft-based technologies such as MVC WCF Services Web API and Azure.
• Experience inSQL Server.
• Familiar withTypeScriptand common JavaScript frameworks such asReact.
• Knowledge of other modern concepts and practices includingObservabilityautomation andDevOps.
• A strong commitment to quality: youdefensively codeinject dependencies and understand the vital importance ofunit testing.
