People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver – Flatbed Tramping to join our well-established client based in Magor, Monmouthshire.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Flatbed Driver, Tramping Driver, or Truck Driver.
Shifts
• Days, Nights and various shift patterns available
• Tramping role
• Guaranteed 50 hours per week
Rates of Pay
• £16.00 - £17.00 per hour
• £25.00 tax-free night out allowance per night
• Enhanced weekend and Bank Holiday rates

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include:
• Operating Category CE flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing nationwide flatbed deliveries
• Manual load securing using chains and straps
• Conducting pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant before departure
• Working in accordance with FORS Gold safety standards
• Completing all transport documentation accurately
• Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
• Providing a professional service at customer delivery locations
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
• A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) Driving Licence
• A valid CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of three months' flatbed trailer experience
• Experience using chains and straps to secure loads
• Knowledge of FORS Gold safety standards
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• A reliable, professional approach with excellent communication skills
Desirable Experience
• Previous tramping experience
• Experience within steel, construction or flatbed transport operations
• Long-distance Class 1 driving experience
