- Secure Cloud & Data PlatformsThe RoleAs a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing backend platforms and services using modern commercial and open-source technologies across both private and public cloud environments.Working within an Agile, cross-functional team, you will contribute to impactful projects that solve complex real-world challenges.
This role offers the opportunity to work on both short and long-term programmes in a highly collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, document, deploy and enhance platform features in line with functional and non-functional requirementsContribute to the elaboration and estimation of user stories within the teamDeliver frequent, incremental releases to maintain delivery momentumCollaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring shared ownership and coverageBuild, optimise and maintain continuous deployment pipelinesTake operational responsibility for services owned by your teamSkills and ExperienceMinimum of 5 years' experience delivering production-grade cloud solutionsStrong proficiency in Java and experience with JVM-based languages such as Kotlin or ScalaExperience working with Kafka or similar streaming platformsBackground in Agile DevSecOps environments and Zero Trust architectureExperience integrating with backend services such as PostgreSQL, Redis or object storage solutionsStrong engineering fundamentals including clean code, automated testing, continuous delivery and code reviewsExperience using version control and collaboration tools such as Git-based platformsProven experience with test-driven development practicesUnderstanding of microservices architecture and design patternsExposure to big data technologiesEnvironment and BenefitsOpportunity to work on high-impact, mission-critical projects within a secure and regulated domainCollaborative Agile teams focused on innovation and continuous improvementSupport in obtaining advanced security clearance, with the opportunity to contribute to sensitive projectsInclusive and supportive culture recognised for putting people firstThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to work on cutting-edge cloud and data platforms while contributing to meaningful, real-world outcomes.
