Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality platforms and pipelines. Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and maintenance. Required Skills: Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based platforms and infrastructure, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Hands-on experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud Functions, and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine). Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform (including for GCP) or Deployment Manager. Strong background in CI/CD pipeline design and automation using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build, or similar. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go). Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE). Solid understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments, including GCP-specific best practices. Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, GCP Operations Suite). Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). Ability to troubleshoot and optimise workloads for performance, cost, and reliability on GCP. Desirable Skills: Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, on-premise). Exposure to service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) and configuration management tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet). Knowledge of site reliability engineering (SRE) principles and practices. GCP certifications (e.g., Cloud Digital Leader, Associate Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer). ITILv4 Foundation certification. Familiarity with GCP AI/ML services (AI Platform, AutoML). Experience with GCP billing, cost management, and optimisation. Exposure to GCP security tools (Security Command Centre, Cloud Armor or Cloud Security Scanner). Experience delivering complex projects from backlog through to production. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving abilities, enabling the identification and resolution of challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
