As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of commercial excellence across Kier Design. Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll help manage all aspects of commercial activity, from procurement and subcontractor management through to financial reporting and change control. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with talented Project Leads and embedded teams, ensuring robust commercial controls and clear forecasting whilst contributing to wider business efficiency.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Kier Design team, supporting them in delivering strong commercial governance and performance. Your day to day will include:

  • Leading subcontractor procurement activities, including tendering, evaluation and appointment, and managing whole-life subcontract performance
  • Supporting contract administration and change control processes, working with Project Leads to manage commercial risk and opportunity
  • Providing accurate forecasting and reporting, preparing client applications for payment and managing work in progress effectively

  • Contributing to team efficiency by monitoring utilisation, supporting bid and tender activities, and building strong relationships across teams

What are we looking for?

  • You possess strong contractual awareness, including NEC and general commercial principles, with demonstrable experience in subcontract procurement and management
  • You're confident preparing client applications, forecasting, cost reporting and managing change control processes
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, are detail-oriented and able to work independently across multiple projects
  • You're a collaborative problem-solver with strong time management skills, commercial judgement and a focus on working in line with our values

Making Kier a diverse and inclusive place to work is a huge priority for us. We're proud of the steps we've taken so far, but we know we must always do more.
