Go back Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Principal Clinical/Neuro Psychologist The closing date is 11 August 2026 This is an exciting opportunity for a neuropsychologist or clinical psychologist with relevant neuropsychological assessment skills and experience to join the Younger People with Dementia Service (YPWDS). The service offers assessment and support to adults under the age of 65 and comes under the umbrella of the Older Peoples Service (OPS) in Leeds. The focus of the role will be providing neuropsychological assessment within the YPWDS as well as supporting the development of psychosocial interventions for this client group. The input of the psychologist is highly valued in this specialist service where people often present with complex mental and physical health histories, and an holistic approach to ongoing support is essential. As a senior clinician fully embedded within the team there is an expectation that the psychologist will provide psychological formulation and intervention, team consultation and training. You will also belong to a wider group of clinical psychologists and psychological therapists who work in different areas of the OPS and who have shared aims and objectives to support colleagues in the psychological care of service users. Supervision will be offered within a peer neuropsychological supervision group as well as 1:1 supervision for clinical cases. The psychological professions workforce is supported by a Deputy Director of Psychological Professions and professional leads and there is a dedicated peer support group for 8bs across the organisation. Main duties of the job * Provide specialist neuropsychological assessment and formulation within the YPWDS * Lead on developing the psychosocial interventions offer within the YPWDS * Facilitate team formulation with guidance and support for other professionals regarding psychological approaches to care for younger people living with dementia. * Provide clinical supervision to other psychological practitioners working in the service and within the wider Memory Assessment Service. * Take responsibility for line management of psychological practitioners within OPS as required. * Input into training initiatives as required for LYPFT staff and through links with the D.Clin Psych programme at the University of Leeds. Strong links with the Leeds DClinPsy course provide trainee placements, supporting doctoral theses, and commissioning service evaluation projects. * Contribute to Trust duties within and outside the service e.g. investigate complaints, contribute to task and finish groups, or assist in projects that improve quality of care. Enquiries are strongly encouraged prior to application.
