We offer innovative and sustainable solutions across the whole building envelope for new build, renovation projects and across the building industry.About the roleAs a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (known as a Mechanical Fitter internally), you will be part of an in house engineering team that keeps production running safely and reliably.

You will work hands on with plant and equipment, supporting planned maintenance and responding to breakdowns to help maintain consistent output and quality.Duties also include:Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on production equipmentSupporting safe and efficient operation of specialist machineryWorking with hydraulic, pneumatic and drive chain systemsReplacing and aligning bearingsSupporting fabrication and welding tasks where requiredWorking closely with colleagues to minimise downtimeYour work will help us deliver reliable production of high quality bricks for building/construction customers across the UK, supporting the performance and resilience of our operations.There are opportunities to build your skills, learn from experienced colleagues and develop your career within our wider engineering community.This position is based at our Todhills site, which is near to Bishops Auckland, Crook, Willington, and Spennymoor, commutable from Durham, Middlesborough, and Darlington.Due to the site location, it is accessible by personal vehicles only.

Free parking is available.Hours of work2 weeks of day shifts 6.00am to 5.30pm.

then 2 weeks of night Shifts 6pm to 5.30am,Working pattern is:- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday- Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday- working 7 days out of every 14About YouEssentialMechanical engineering background with good experience in manufacturing environmentsLevel 3 qualification in a mechanical engineering disciplineStrong commitment to health and safety best practiceGood communication skills, written and verbalAbility to work flexibly in a busy, hands-on environmentExperience of fault finding on hydraulic, pneumatic and drive systemsDesirableCompleted a hands on apprenticeshipHNC or HND qualification or equivalentExperience in heavy manufacturing industryArc and MIG welding or basic fabrication skillsExperience with electrical control systemsAbout our BenefitsWeekly paidAverage annual salary is £48,000(inclusive of allowances and bonuses)Overtime is available to increase earning potentialSupport is there when you need it through our employee assistance and wellbeing programmes.
