Job description
School Administrator – Secondary School – Bristol Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale A well-established Secondary School in Bristol is looking to appoint an organised and professional School Administrator to join its experienced administration team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy school environment and enjoys providing high-quality administrative support to staff, students and parents. Working closely with the Office Manager and Senior Leadership Team, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school's administrative functions. You will become a key point of contact for visitors, parents and external agencies while maintaining accurate records and supporting a variety of school operations. School Information This is an 11 to 18 well-established Secondary School with a strong commitment to high standards, student wellbeing and continuous improvement. The school serves a diverse community and provides a broad curriculum that encourages students to achieve academically while developing confidence, resilience and independence. Administration Team The Administration Team provides efficient and professional support across all areas of the school, ensuring staff, students and visitors receive an excellent level of service every day. Responsibilities Providing administrative support across the school. Answering telephone and email enquiries professionally. Welcoming parents, visitors and contractors. Maintaining accurate pupil records. Updating the school's Management Information System. Preparing letters and school correspondence. Supporting admissions and enrolment processes. Assisting with attendance administration. Ordering office supplies and resources. Maintaining confidential records. Supporting Senior Leadership with administrative tasks. Organising meetings and preparing documentation. Processing incoming and outgoing post. Assisting with school events where required. Providing general reception cover when needed. Requirements Previous school administration experience is desirable. Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office. Experience using school MIS systems is advantageous. Excellent communication skills. Strong organisational ability. High attention to detail. Professional and approachable manner. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Commitment to safeguarding.
