Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve the best possible outcome for patients following stroke. Also, at Freeman Hospital to provide assessment and management of patients with other diagnosis in the acute phase of their recovery i.e. medical, cardi, and respiratory wards. We use Videofluorscopy and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing to assess dysphagia and we are one of the leading units in the North of England to use Pharyngeal Electrical Stimulation in the treatment of dysphagia.The Adult Speech & Language Therapy Team is full of expertise across a large range of specialist areas. Our successful candidate will be very well supported in their journey to becoming a Specialist; achieving Dysphagia competencies is a priority. * Interview Date: 18 August 2026 37 hours 30 minutes/week Main duties of the job * To assess stroke patients on the rehabilitation unit * To assess patients with other conditions on a range of wards * To provide intervention where appropriate * To advise ward staff and relatives on strategies for eating and drinking and communication About us As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you.
