Exams Officer – Outstanding Secondary School – Derby

Leadership places significant emphasis on compliance, accuracy, and maintaining high standards in all examination processes.
Due to internal progression, the school is seeking a meticulous and experienced Exams Officer.
The Exams Officer will oversee all aspects of internal and external examinations, ensuring full compliance with awarding body and JCQ regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing examination entries for GCSE and A Level
Liaising with awarding bodies (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.)
Coordinating exam timetables
Organising mock examinations
Recruiting and training invigilators
Ensuring secure storage of exam materials
Managing access arrangements and special considerations
Overseeing results days and post-results services
Maintaining accurate candidate records
Producing exam data reports for SLT
The role requires exceptional organisational skills, precision, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
The Exams Officer works closely with the Data Manager and Deputy Head (Curriculum). Annual examination cycles are clearly structured and supported by robust MIS systems.
Previous experience as an Exams Officer or in examinations administration
Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
High attention to detail
Strong IT skills
Ability to work under pressure
Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality
