The Opportunity
An established and award-winning multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Sheffield office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a varied project portfolio, take technical ownership, and play a key role in mentoring junior staff within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of structural design projects across multiple sectors.
This consultancy is a well-respected, multi-disciplinary engineering firm delivering services across structural, civil, geotechnical, and environmental sectors. Known for its collaborative culture and strong pipeline of work, the business offers long-term career progression and a supportive working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing concrete and steel frame structures, including medium to high-rise buildings
Working on existing buildings and refurbishment schemes
Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
Utilizing software such as MasterSeries, SCIA, or Strand7
Overseeing and guiding CAD Technicians in the production of drawings
Supporting project delivery from concept through to completion
Preparing design quotes and technical reports
Mentoring and checking the work of graduates and junior engineers
Collaborating with civil, geotechnical, and infrastructure teams
Attending client meetings and contributing to strong working relationships
About You
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience
Working towards or achieved Chartered status (ICE or IStructE)
Strong experience in hands-on structural design
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
