Job description
Location - Wigan Salary/Package - 28,000 - 35,000 + Excellent Benefits Package About the Company Our client is a leading specialist contractor delivering high-quality building envelope and façade solutions across the UK. With expertise spanning roofing, cladding, rainscreen systems, façades, waterproofing, and specialist construction services, they work with many of the UKs leading main contractors, developers, and public sector clients on complex new build and refurbishment projects. Continued investment in their people and a healthy pipeline of secured work has created an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Graduate Quantity Surveyor to begin their commercial career within a supportive and experienced team. The Role As Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for: * Assisting with the commercial management of specialist roofing, cladding, and façade projects * Supporting the preparation of subcontractor enquiries, procurement, and contract documentation * Assisting with applications for payment, valuations, variations, and final accounts * Producing quantity take-offs and assisting with cost reporting and CVRs * Monitoring project costs and supporting budget management * Working closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and operational teams * Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers * Assisting with identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities * Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation * Developing your commercial knowledge through structured mentoring and on-the-job training The Ideal Candidate * A degree (or be due to graduate) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline * A genuine interest in pursuing a commercial career within the construction industry * Strong numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills * Excellent communication and organisational abilities * A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop * Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel * The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team * A Full UK Driving Licence would be advantageous Whats on Offer * Competitive basic salary of 28,000 - 35,000 * Attractive benefits package * Opportunity to join a leading specialist contractor with an excellent industry reputation * Full mentoring and structured career development from experienced commercial professionals * Exposure to high‑profile roofing, cladding, and façade projects across the UK * Long‑term career progression within a growing business * Supportive and collaborative working environment We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities.
