Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for aCoordinator Vettingto join our global team.

Team and Role Purpose

Ensuring a customer centric end to end and seamless service is provided for all global People Operations activities. This will include ensuring all HR administrative activities are completed for all our global teams including starters leavers and changes. Also maintaining all people related information in our HRIS systems to ensure one source of truth for all people data. Providing guidance to all our country and Global teams helping navigate them to appropriate / helpful policies to answer queries and requests or directing them to the teams that can assist.

Role Purpose

The role holder will carry out compliance checks on employees globally to ensure thorough and effective vetting escalating any concerns to the Team Lead People Operations and Legal Counsel as necessary.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Carrying out daily vetting checks on candidates across the world as well as running periodical vetting batch-checks.
  • Working on DBS renewal checks tracking renewal/expiry dates and ensuring these are completed in a timely manner.
  • Verify and confirm right-to-work checks in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the internal databases and HR Legal inbox.
  • Liaising with our global and country offices and ensuring a prompt and thorough response to their requests for employee vetting checks.
  • Escalating any concerns as necessary to the Team Lead People Operations.
  • Providing regular communications to Country Offices to support with the vetting process as well as providing training.
  • Providing ad hoc administrative support to team members as and when required.

Experience and Skills

Essential

  1. Previous general office administration experience.
  2. Previous experience using a system/database
  3. Understanding of HR and recruitment processes.
  4. Understands the need for confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information and correspondence.
  5. Sound judgement and an ability to effectively prioritise.
  6. Highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
  7. Experienced in developing and maintaining efficient filing systems.
  8. Strong attention to detail.
  9. Strong written and oral communication skills fluent in English.
  10. Evidenced ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a broad range of people at all levels across different cultures and to act with credibility discretion tact and diplomacy.
  11. Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and work calmly under pressure to achieve deadlines.

Desirable

  • Some knowledge and understanding of legal and/or procurement practices

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum A-levels completed.
