AECOM is looking for a Design Manager who can bring their technical expertise to a range of significant projects. You will guide and oversee technical delivery forming close working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and clients such as Wessex Water South West Water Welsh Water and Thames Water.

Heres what youll do:

You will bridge the gap between bold strategy and technical reality.

• Lead: Drive the multi-disciplinary technical delivery of water/wastewater infrastructure and treatment projects through the design lifecycle from feasibility to asset management.
• Collaborate: Work closely with our most valued clients to understand their needs collaborate with contractors and stakeholders and guide colleagues to develop exceptional technical solutions.
• Manage: Oversee key packages of work from conception to handover interfacing with AECOM teams clients suppliers and contractors to create a seamless technical solution.
• Guide: Act as the primary technical interface for our valued clients and contractor partners.
• Mentor: Support the development of team members through mentorship and oversight (optional line management opportunities are available if desired.)

Qualifications :

Ready to push the limits of whats possible

Heres what were looking for:

• A degree (or equivalent) in an engineering subject e.g. civil electrical mechanical.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with ICE CIWEM or similar. .
• Extensive experience in water or wastewater engineering (treatment schemes and/or network design) including multi-disciplinary knowledge.
• Experience in leading the technical delivery of projects working with engineers and specialists to deliver wide ranging schemes alongside the project manager.
• A proven track record of forming strong working relationships with clients and contractors in the water sector.
• Passion for quality including applying your expertise to undertaking quality assurance reviews of deliverables.
• Enthusiasm for technical mentorship and supporting the development of team members.
• Ability to support business development activities including bids and fee proposals.
• Relevant experience in a similar role for a water company or consultancy.
