Job description
Position: Caretaker Location: Leicester Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: Immediate Start Available Caretaker Role in an Outstanding Secondary School An Outstanding Secondary School in Leicester is seeking to appoint a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join its dedicated premises team. About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and operation of the school site, ensuring that buildings and grounds are clean, safe, secure, and well maintained. Working closely with the Site Manager and School Business Manager, you will carry out routine maintenance tasks, complete health and safety checks, support site security, liaise with contractors, assist with room setups, and respond promptly to operational issues across the school. This role requires a practical, organised, and dependable individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and contributing to a positive school environment. Key Responsibilities Open and close the school site safely and securely Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs Ensure buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained Complete health and safety and compliance checks Monitor heating, lighting, and building systems Liaise with contractors and oversee maintenance visits Assist with room setups for lessons, examinations, events, and activities Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff The School Environment This Outstanding Secondary School in Leicester provides an ambitious and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential academically and personally.
