Role Overview
A leading financial services organisation is looking for a Senior Quantitative Analyst / Python Quant Engineer to support the consolidation of multiple modelling tools into a centralised Python-based Monte Carlo modelling framework.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring a strong mix of quantitative/statistical modelling and production-grade Python engineering. The successful candidate will help migrate existing models, optimise simulation performance, support AWS deployment, and make the framework easier to use across business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, migrate, and enhance quantitative models within a central Python framework.
- Build and optimise Monte Carlo simulation models and statistical analytics.
- Write efficient, maintainable Python code suitable for production use.
- Support migration of spreadsheet and standalone models into Python.
- Work with AWS environments, including storage, databases, and compute.
- Improve model performance, scalability, usability, and governance.
- Act as a bridge between quant teams, business users, risk, and technology stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on Python development Experience.
- Experience writing efficient, scalable Python code beyond basic scripting.
- Strong Experience with Monte Carlo simulation, stochastic modelling, or advanced statistical modelling.
- Good statistical judgement and ability to assess model outputs.
- Experience developing algorithms, simulations, or analytical frameworks.
- Exposure to AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Desirable Experience
- Financial services, banking, capital markets, structured finance, credit risk, or capital modelling Experience.
- Actuarial, insurance, or other Monte Carlo-heavy modelling backgrounds.
- Experience migrating spreadsheet-based models into Python.
- Exposure to model governance, risk frameworks, controls, or operational risk.
- Experience building tools or interfaces for non-technical users.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal profile is a 50/50 Quant Analyst and Python Engineer — someone who combines strong statistical modelling capability with robust Python development skills.
They should be comfortable across:

- Python engineering and performance optimisation.
- AWS deployment and infrastructure conversations.
