Autism Support Assistant - Reading

Full-Time | Immediate Start

Do you have a genuine passion for supporting children with Autism?

An inclusive and well-resourced SEN school in Reading is looking for a committed Autism Support Assistant to join their supportive team. This full-time role offers invaluable experience for those looking to pursue a career in psychology, therapy, or special education.

You will be supporting pupils aged 5-16 with Autism Spectrum Condition, many of whom have additional needs such as ADHD, anxiety, and communication difficulties. The school focuses on providing a calm, structured, and predictable environment to help pupils feel safe and confident.

Key Details:

* Role: Autism Support Assistant * Location: Reading * Salary: £90-£105 per day * Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm * Start Date: ASAP * Ideal for: Graduates in Psychology, Education, or related fields, or those passionate about SEN

Autism Support Assistant responsibilities will include:

* Delivering tailored 1:1 support * Assisting with social skills development * Supporting emotional regulation strategies * Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement * Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

This Autism Support Assistant position is a strong stepping stone into Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, SEN Teaching, or Therapy-based careers.
