Job description
History Teacher - Renowned Independent School in Chester Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale History Teacher A renowned Independent School in Chester is seeking a professional and highly organised History Teacher to join their experienced academic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-structured and supportive school environment where teaching staff play an essential role in the smooth operation of the school. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across multiple key stages, focusing on historical analysis, source critique, and essay development. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of history societies, museum excursions, and debating events. You will also support communication with parents, students, and external agencies while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment. The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative historical faculty.
