Looking for Flexible Work in a Supportive Secondary School?

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well-established mainstream secondary school in Lichfield that is looking to appoint a confident and reliable PE Cover Supervisor to support with day-to-day supply requirements.

This role would suit someone with experience working in a school environment, a sports or coaching background, or someone with transferable skills who enjoys working with young people and is looking for flexible work.

The school has an excellent reputation locally, with a supportive leadership team, positive student behaviour, and a welcoming environment where staff and supply colleagues are valued.

You do not need to hold QTS for this role. The school is looking for someone who is confident managing classrooms, engaging students, and supporting learning through pre-set lessons.

The Role

  • Provide day-to-day cover for absent teachers across the school.
  • Deliver pre-set lessons and ensure students remain focused and engaged.
  • Support PE lessons and practical activities where required.
  • Build positive relationships with students.
  • Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently.
  • Support students across a range of subjects and year groups.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the wider school team.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has previous experience working with young people in a school, sports, coaching, mentoring, or similar environment.
  • Is confident managing groups of students.
  • Can follow lesson plans and support students’ learning.
  • Is reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working on a flexible basis.
  • Has strong communication skills and can build positive relationships.
  • Is passionate about supporting young people.

Why Consider This Role?

  • Flexible day-to-day work to suit your availability.
  • Opportunity to work within a highly regarded secondary school.
  • Positive student behaviour and a supportive school culture.
  • Gain valuable classroom experience.
  • Ideal for aspiring teachers, sports graduates, coaches, or education professionals.
  • Support from Teaching Personnel throughout your placement.
  • Potential access to longer-term opportunities.

To Be Eligible For This Role Through Teaching Personnel, You Must:

  • Hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Have previous experience working with young people.
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
  • Provide two professional references covering the last two years.

If you're looking for flexible school-based work where you can use your skills and experience to make a positive impact, we'd love to hear from you.
