Department Description

With a global footprint the Universal Music Group Royalty and Copyright Product Teamdesignsdevelops delivers andmaintainsseveraltechnical solutions to calculate royaltyaccountingina timelyandaccuratemanner to our valued artists.

Werealso providing them with extensive and detailed visibility of their earnings from various sources of digital income. The team continuously collaborates with our international business teams to deliver innovative solutions support best practices and introduce new processes forbetterroyalty flow.

The Role

The DataEngineerwill work closely with business stakeholders product managers and engineering teams to deliver data-driven insights& automationthat support the Royalty and Copyright business. The roleis responsible foranalyzingdataidentifyingtrends producing reportingor automated processes/ETLsolutions supporting data quality initiatives and translating business requirements into actionable insights.

The successful candidate will help improve business decision-making throughaccuratereporting analytics and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design build andmaintainscalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

  • Develop and optimise data integration solutions between on-premises and cloud platforms.

  • Ensure the quality reliability and integrity of enterprise data.

  • Build andmaintaindata warehouses data lakes and semantic data models.

  • Automate manual data processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead.

  • Implement data governance security and compliance standards across data platforms.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data quality performance and integration issues.

  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into reportingor automatedsolutions.

  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Identifyopportunities to automate reporting processes and improve operational efficiency.

Skills and Experience

Must Have

  • Strong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets.

  • Experience with Python R or other analytical programming languages.

  • Experience with reporting andvisualizationtools such as Power BI Tableau or Looker.

  • Experience development ETL/ELT solutions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with data validation reconciliation and quality assurance processes.

  • Ability to gather document andanalyzebusiness requirements.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

  • Experience working with relational databases data warehouses and reporting platforms.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWSAzureor Google Cloud.

  • Knowledge of royalty and copyright processes.

  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

  • Music industry business knowledge.
