A welcoming primary school in Nottingham is looking to appoint a Caretaker to join the premises team from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented school environment. The Role As the school's Caretaker, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the site, helping to ensure the school is ready for pupils, staff, and visitors each day. Key responsibilities include: Opening and securing the school site Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs Completing routine health and safety checks Maintaining the school buildings and grounds Setting up rooms for assemblies, meetings, and school events Working with contractors and reporting maintenance issues Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the premises About the School This friendly primary school is proud of its welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of community. The Successful Candidate The school is looking for a dependable and proactive individual who can work independently and manage a varied workload. Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Premises Assistant, Facilities Assistant, or Maintenance Operative is desirable. Experience working within a school would be an advantage, although candidates with relevant maintenance or facilities experience from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
