Job Description

Employability Team Leader

Salary: £37,000 per annum

Location: Barnet

As a Team Leader, you will be the driving force behind a team of Employment Advisors—empowering, training, and inspiring them to create opportunities for participants. You’ll champion innovation, inclusion, and performance excellence while fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and teamwork. Leading by example, you’ll live and breathe the Ingeus values.

Beyond performance, your role is about creating opportunities, shifting mindsets, and transforming experiences for everyone you support – participants at every stage of their journey and your team alike – through strong people centred leadership.

What you will be doing

  • Leading, developing, and retaining high-quality Employment Advisors to support participants into sustainable employment
  • Establishing a clear vision and fostering a supportive culture that encourages continuous improvement and high standards
  • Ensuring Advisors work effectively with participants, creating tailored support plans and overcoming barriers to work
  • Driving performance through regular reviews, coaching, observations, and caseload management
  • Identifying skills and knowledge gaps, sharing best practice, and ensuring development plans are effective and supported by the right training.
  • Onboarding new team members and setting clear expectations
  • Monitoring and managing Quality, Compliance, and Customer Service Standards daily
  • Producing weekly and monthly management information and supporting audits
  • Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including JCP and local partners
  • Managing recruitment and onboarding for your team

Qualifications

To be successful, you will require

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with experience motivating teams and driving high performance
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in data analysis and digital tools (Microsoft Office and web-based platforms)
  • Excellent communication skills with strong emotional intelligence
  • Knowledge of the local labour market and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in target-driven environments (e.g., B2B sales or equivalent)
  • Level 2 qualification (including English and Maths)

If you require any support or adjustments—whether that’s help with the application, interview format, or anything else—we’re here to listen and work with you to find the best approach. Our goal is to ensure you can showcase your skills and potential in a way that works for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss how we can support you.

Please note, we may shortlist and conduct interviews before the closing date and we may close this role early if we receive enough applications.
