Regional Early Years Practitioner (Bank Role)
Location: Cardiff Bay | Bank / Zero‑Hours,

Are you a passionate Early Years Practitioner ready to make a difference across multiple settings?

At Cardiff Bay, we don’t just provide childcare – we nurture little adventurers with big imaginations, kind hearts, and curious minds. We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible Early Years Practitioners to join our bank team, providing high‑quality care and support across our nurseries in the Cardiff region.

While this is a bank role, we are able to offer greater consistency, including a minimum of 10 hours per week for successful candidates.

If you enjoy variety, flexibility, and being part of a fun, motivated and supportive organisation, this could be your next great career move.

About the Role

As a Regional Bank Early Years Practitioner, you will provide essential cover and support across Cardiff nursery settings when needed. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of care while bringing energy, creativity and professionalism to each nursery you support.

You will create warm, engaging and enriching environments where every child feels safe, seen and inspired to learn.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the learning and development of children aged 0–5 through meaningful play and planned experiences

  • Ensuring every child feels valued, nurtured and challenged according to their individual needs and interests

  • Following safeguarding procedures and promoting a strong culture of safety and care

  • Building positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents across multiple settings

  • Adapting confidently to different nursery environments and teams

  • Reflecting on your practice and engaging in ongoing training and professional development

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for practitioners who bring energy, empathy and flexibility to their work.

You’ll need:

  • At least 1 year’s experience in a nursery or early years setting

  • A genuine passion for supporting young children’s learning and development

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements

  • Confident communication and teamwork skills

  • A reflective, adaptable and can‑do attitude

  • Willingness and ability to travel to different nursery locations within the South West

  • A current Enhanced DBS, or willingness to undergo a check

Working Pattern

  • Bank / zero‑hours contract

  • Shifts available Monday to Friday

  • Flexible working across Cardiff Nursery settings

Ready to start your next adventure?

If you’re looking for flexibility, variety, and a place where your contribution is truly valued, apply now and become part of the Green Giraffe team.

We are committed to Safer Recruitment. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and at least two satisfactory references.
