14:30 Job Description: This role would suit an enthusiastic, innovative Production Engineer or QC Inspector with a strong working knowledge of CMM programming and software.

This position reports directly to the QA / RA Manager. As a hands-on Quality Inspector and metrology expert, the employee will be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications and use a variety of inspection tools to identify and resolve quality issues. .

The responsibilities include;

Creating CMM programs in advance of production and cataloguing to ensure ease of use

Inspecting manufactured parts using both CMM and manual techniques

Producing inspection reports

Maintaining Quality systems

Training new employees and apprentices to be fully competent in inspection processes,

Leading or contributing to Continuous Improvement activities

Calibration of equipment

Maintaining and enhancing HSE The ideal candidate will be able to coordinate and plan their workload to meet the daily demands of the business, supporting others during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities:

Program and operate Mitutoyo CMMs using MCOSMOS, CAT1000D software for inspection of precision components. Familiarity with MICAT is a bonus but training will be provided.

Work proactively to develop and deliver pre-programmed CMM inspection routines aligned with the requirements identified during the Contract Review process.

Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specifications.

Perform manual inspections using micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other metrology equipment.

Interpret complex engineering documentation and apply inspection methods to validate dimensional conformity.

Produce clear, detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.

Support the identification of non-conformances, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.

Collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure timely resolution of quality issues.

Maintain compliance with ISO 13485 and other medical device regulatory standards.

Contribute to Continuous Improvement efforts in Quality / Inspection processes and documentation. Increasing efficiency, improving on time delivery, reducing non-value-added inspection and reducing cost.

Attend (As deputy) and update information for Production meetings to provide department workflow updates.

Complete inspection related tasks as directed by the Senior Quality Inspector or QA / RA Manager.

Assist with the upkeep of the calibration system by means of the calibration of company equipment to defined timescales.

Be a high functioning member of the quality department and support Production Engineering and other internal departments to further the interests of the company as a whole.

Meet quality and quantity productivity .

Support the Quality Manager in monitoring and progressing Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs and produce reports relating to non-conformance.

Ensure all quality records are fully completed in line with GDP requirements.

Create, support the creation of or help to improve work instructions, procedures and forms within the quality management system.

Maintain safe operations by keeping work areas clean and organized and by adhering to the companys 5S philosophy, safety procedures and regulations.

Maintain equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions. Report repairs to your line manager.

Required Skills & Experience :

Proven experience as a CMM Programmer, ideally in a medical device or precision engineering environment.

Proficiency with MCOSMOS software and solid understanding of CMM operation and best practices.

Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to interpret complex technical drawings and CAD data.

Skilled in using a wide range of manual measurement tools.

Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, or other regulated quality systems.

Good working knowledge of Quality documentation, including FAIRs, CTQs, inspection reports, NCRs, CAPA and Complaints.

Strong teamwork and communication skillsable to collaborate across departments.

Demonstrated proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.

Competent in using MS Office and QMS or ERP systems. Accountabilities of All Employees:

Work with the Quality and Production teams on other projects and assignments where appropriate.

To ensure the most efficient and effective methods and practices are used for all aspects of the job.

Working within the Quality Management System (QMS) framework, complying with procedures, company guidelines and H&S policy at all times.
