Job Ref No. ECC4420-650S – Position Type: Teaching/Child Support – Pay Range: Scale 7, Points 19-24 Position Start Date: 1 January 2027 – Contract Type: Part-time – Term: Fixed About the role Notley High School and Sixth Form, part of Bridge Academy Trust, is an ambitious, improving school rated Strong by Ofsted for Inclusion and Leadership & Governance (May 2026). We are seeking a Skilled and Committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Reading) to cover maternity leave from January 2027, supporting pupils who need help to develop their reading skill and confidence. Responsibilities * Deliver targeted reading intervention and support across the school * Work closely with the SENDCo and the Assistant Headteacher for Whole School Reading to identify and support pupils with reading needs * Receive full support from an experienced and welcoming team * Contribute to the schools Enjoy · Enrich · Achieve · Aspire ethos Qualifications and Experience * Holds HLTA status (or equivalent relevant experience/qualification) * Experience delivering structured reading intervention programmes * Confidence in identifying and addressing gaps in pupils reading ability * Committed to inclusive practice and raising outcomes for all pupils * Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff * Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing Work Schedule * 18 hours per week * Term Time Only + 5 Inset Days (39 weeks a year) * Fixed term covering maternity leave Bridge Academy Trust welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds, faiths, and ethnic groups.
