Job descriptionSalary: £30,000–£35,000 | Location: Manchester (hybrid) | Reports to: Head of Marketing The role Were looking for a hands-on marketing generalist at the start of their career whos ready to get stuck in, learn the ropes, and fast-track their career. Youll work alongside the campaign manager, brand and community manager and head of marketing, helping across digital campaigns, in-person events, social media and content creation. Its the perfect role for learning what marketing actually looks like inside a tech startup, with the freedom to progress into the area you enjoy most. Progression here is real and fast: were looking to grow the next line of marketing leaders from within the company, and wed like you to be one of them. What youll do Help where help is needed across digital, events and campaigns. As a small team, we all pitch in, and youll get exposure to everything marketing touches. Support the campaign manager on digital campaigns: building emails, landing pages and ads, and keeping campaigns running on schedule. Support our events programme: research, logistics, materials, and being hands‑on at the events themselves. Create content for our social channels and beyond, learning to write in the Cytix voice. Get to grips with our marketing tools and data, helping report on whats working and what isnt. Gradually take ownership of the areas where you show the most promise and interest. What youll bring Some marketing experience: a first role, a placement, a degree, or things youve built and promoted yourself. We care more about evidence you get stuck in than years on a CV. Good writing and attention to detail. Organisation: you can juggle several small tasks without dropping any. Curiosity and a genuine appetite to learn, including about technical subjects like how software gets built and secured. Willingness to travel to events and muck in on the day. What youll get Share options. If Cytix wins, you should too. Enhanced maternity pay. Octopus car scheme. Drive electric through salary sacrifice. Dog‑friendly office. Bring them along. Inclusivity as standard. A team where you can do your best work as yourself, no asterisks. About Cytix Software never stops changing. Teams ship new code every day, through tickets, pull requests, releases, and increasingly with AI in the mix, but the way security keeps up with all that change hasnt really moved on. Thats the problem were solving. Cytix helps organisations understand which software changes actually matter, what should happen next, and how to prove the right call was made. Security understood, in other words. Were a small team with big plans, so every person we hire genuinely shapes what Cytix becomes. Thats why were upfront about our five values: we interview for all of them, and they matter to us more than a perfect CV. Theyre things you do, not things you are, so have a read and see if they sound like you. Make the first move. When the goal is clear but the path isnt, you get moving rather than waiting for perfect instructions. If youre blocked, you make a sensible call, say what youre assuming, and explain how youd course‑correct. Wed rather you act and be slightly wrong than sit still. Find the smarter path. You ask why before how. You dig into what the real problem is instead of just building what the spec says, and youre happy to question thats how its always been done when the reason behind it has gone stale. See it through. When somethings yours, it lands. No loose ends, no surprises for whoever picks it up next. You keep people posted when things change, and if something falls between roles, you catch it. Raise the bar. You do the best job possible in the time youve got, whether thats a day or a month. Sometimes that means deep craft; sometimes the smartest move is quick and scrappy. Its about good judgement, and we hold each other to it without blame or politics. Play to win. You care about the mission but dont take yourself too seriously. You say I when things go wrong and we when they go right, trust teammates to do things their own way, and bring a bit of humour when the pressures on. Sound like you on a normal working day? Wed love to meet you. J-18808-Ljbffr
