Job description
  • Cultural Programming Manager - London* *About The Groucho Club* The Groucho exists to keep Soho's artistic, liberal spirit burning bright, and to champion London's role as a creative powerhouse on the world stage.
  • A joyful, generous and welcoming space for ideas, creative life and the occasional late night.

Born in 1985 as the antidote to the cloistered gentlemen's clubs of London's Mayfair, The Groucho Club was founded on a radical idea : that good company is the kind chosen by ideas rather than status, that emerging voices belong in the same room as established ones, and that culture is made through conversation, collision and curiosity.

Forty years on, that belief still drives everything we do.

We exist to facilitate the conversations that shape culture now and next, to back the people making it, and to keep Soho generous, welcoming and alive to creative possibility.

    We host, we don't serve.

Members and guests are people we know, not names on a list. *Cultural Programming Manager* We are looking for a highly organised and operationally focused Cultural Programming Manager to lead the planning and delivery of our member events programme. This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong understanding of the creative industries with excellent event delivery and project management skills.

Working closely with the Managing Director and wider Club teams, you will create and execute a dynamic calendar of events that reflects the interests of our membership and enhances The Groucho Club experience. We're looking for someone who can take an event from concept to completion-managing logistics, budgets, timelines, stakeholders, and on-the-day delivery with confidence and attention to detail.

From screenings and panel discussions to live performances and member dinners, you will ensure every event is planned and delivered to the highest standard. At The Groucho Club, great programming is not just about great ideas-it's about exceptional execution.

This role is at the heart of bringing memorable member experiences to life. *What You'll Be Doing* * Owning the end-to-end operational planning of programmed events, ensuring all logistics, timelines, budgets, supplier management, and stakeholder communications are delivered effectively. * Creating detailed project plans and event schedules to ensure events are executed on time, within budget, and to Club standards. * Leading cross-functional coordination between Operations, Food & Beverage, Reception, Marketing, Finance, and external partners to ensure seamless event delivery. * Taking responsibility for event execution on the day, proactively resolving operational challenges and ensuring an exceptional member and guest experience. * Developing processes, workflows, and planning systems that improve the efficiency and consistency of event delivery. * Managing event budgets, forecasting costs, monitoring spend, and evaluating commercial performance post-event. * Ensuring all programmed events comply with Club procedures, licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and operational best practice.

    • What Makes You a Great Fit* * Proven experience planning and delivering events from concept through to execution, ideally within hospitality, membership, events, arts, media, or entertainment.
    • Highly organised with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple events, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
    • Strong operational mindset with experience managing logistics, budgets, timelines, suppliers, and on-the-day event delivery.
    • Comfortable taking ownership and making decisions in a fast-paced environment, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
    • A confident communicator who builds strong relationships with members, partners, speakers, and colleagues across departments.
    • Commercially aware with the ability to balance creativity, member engagement, and business objectives.
    • Passionate about culture, media, and the creative industries, with a good understanding of the audiences and communities The Groucho Club serves.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality experiences.
    • Professional, discreet, and confident when working with high-profile members, guests, and industry figures.
    • Flexible and adaptable, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and key Club events as required. *Why You'll Love It Here* * Competitive salary. * 33 days holiday including bank holidays, pro-rata. * Wagestream to support your financial wellbeing. * Nutritious meals prepared by our team. * Pension scheme. * Employee Assistance Programme with Hospitality Action. * And all the other things that get us excited, including staff parties, food and drink tastings, unique events, and the opportunity to work alongside London's most creative membership community. *Equal Opportunities* The Groucho Club is an equal opportunity employer.

All aspects of employment including the decision to hire, promote, discipline, or discharge, will be based on merit, competence, performance, and business needs.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, marital status, age, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. No agency support required, direct candidates only, please.
