The Role
Working closely with the Litigation Team Leader, you will manage a caseload of complex and high-value claimant personal injury claims, ensuring every case is progressed efficiently while delivering exceptional client care from instruction through to settlement or trial.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of complex and multi-track claimant personal injury claims.
- Investigating liability, causation and quantum while assessing the overall merits of each case.
- Collating and reviewing evidence, carrying out legal research and developing litigation strategy.
- Advising clients throughout the claims process while managing expectations professionally and proactively.
- Negotiating settlements with insurers and defendant representatives to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Drafting court proceedings, pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and other legal documentation.
- Preparing matters for trial, including instructing Counsel and briefing experts where appropriate.
- Managing cases in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules, Pre-Action Protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Meeting billing, service level and time recording targets while maintaining the highest standards of legal practice.
- Identifying risk, maintaining compliance and contributing to continuous improvement across the litigation team.
What we're looking for
This opportunity would suit an experienced Personal Injury Solicitor or Legal Executive who enjoys handling technically challenging litigation and is looking to further develop their career within a respected national practice.
Ideally you will have:
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive status, or equivalent claimant personal injury litigation experience.
- Previous experience managing complex or multi-track personal injury claims.
- Strong knowledge of Employer's Liability, Occupier's Liability, Public Liability and Road Traffic Accident litigation.
- Excellent understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules, Pre-Action Protocols and relevant case law.
- Experience using legal Case Management Systems.
- Good knowledge of the Judicial College Guidelines, Ogden Tables and personal injury valuation principles.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and client care skills.
- Strong organisational abilities with a proven track record of managing competing priorities effectively.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to litigation.
