Job Description Hearing Care Assistant

Location: Hampshire (mobile across multiple clinics)
Salary: TBC
Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week (Monday to Saturday 8:30am 5:30pm)

About the Opportunity

An established and highly regarded independent healthcare provider is looking for a friendly professional and patient-focused Hearing Care Assistant to join its growing hearing care team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who is passionate about helping people and would like to develop a career within audiology and hearing care.

You will work closely with experienced audiologists and the wider practice team helping to deliver an exceptional patient journey from the first enquiry through to ongoing aftercare.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming patients and ensuring they receive a warm and professional service.
  • Managing hearing care enquiries appointments and follow-up calls.
  • Supporting audiologists with the day-to-day running of the hearing care service.
  • Carrying out basic hearing screenings where trained and appropriate.
  • Discussing hearing care services with patients and explaining the next steps clearly.
  • Supporting hearing aid maintenance cleaning and minor repairs.
  • Assisting patients with hearing aid accessories batteries and general enquiries.
  • Contacting existing patients to arrange reviews and aftercare appointments.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.
  • Supporting the promotion of hearing care services within the practice and local community.
  • Helping to create awareness of hearing health and the benefits of regular hearing checks.
  • Working collaboratively with the optical reception and clinical teams.
  • Ensuring all clinical areas and equipment are prepared and maintained to a high standard.
  • Following company procedures clinical governance requirements and data protection policies.

About You

The successful candidate will be:

  • Friendly approachable and confident when speaking with patients.
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer care.
  • Empathetic and sensitive to the needs of people experiencing hearing difficulties.
  • Organised reliable and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident using computer systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to discuss services in a professional and patient-focused way.
  • Willing to learn and develop new clinical and technical skills.

Previous experience within healthcare audiology optics pharmacy care or a customer-facing environment would be advantageous. However full training may be provided for the right person.
