Description

Job title: Data Management - Assistant Manager

Location: Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh or Leeds

Salary: £44,901 - £49,890

Hours: Full time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity:

This is an opportunity to play a key role in driving improvements to how we identify, measure, manage and remediate data quality issues across one of the UK's largest financial services organisations.

We work with business areas, Platforms and Group teams to help ensure that data is accurate, complete, reliable and fit for purpose. From supporting the resolution of complex data issues to strengthening controls, dashboards and quality monitoring, this role offers the chance to influence how data is managed across a wide range of business activities.

You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team that values curiosity, continuous improvement and practical problem-solving. If you enjoy getting to the root cause of issues, working across organisational boundaries and helping colleagues make better decisions using trusted data, this could be the role for you.

For the right person, this role offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of data quality, controls, remediation and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the oversight and management of Data Quality issues, ensuring risks are identified, prioritised and remediated effectively.

  • Partnering with business and technology teams to drive accountability, challenge progress and support the delivery of sustainable solutions.

  • Investigating data quality concerns, identifying root causes and coordinating remediation activity to improve data accuracy and integrity.

  • Supporting the delivery of the Group's PRA Commitments through effective Data Quality management, issue resolution and control enhancement.

  • Monitoring and reporting on Data Quality performance, providing clear insight into risks, trends and remediation progress.

  • Promoting strong Data Quality and Data Management practices across Business & Commercial Banking, helping to embed ownership and accountability.

  • Providing subject matter expertise on Data Quality controls, governance and issue management within a critical risk and control function.

  • Contributing to the successful delivery of regulatory and governance outcomes by ensuring remediation plans remain on track and business areas meet their commitments.

Why Lloyds Banking Group?

Like the modern Britain we serve, we’re evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We’re growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you can too.

What you'll need:

  • Experience working within Data Quality, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Controls or a related field in a financial services organisation.

  • Experience identifying, analysing and resolving data issues, including root cause analysis, remediation planning and issue management.

  • Experience designing, operating or overseeing Data Quality controls, monitoring, profiling or data assurance activities.

  • Strong partner management skills, with experience partnering across business and technology teams to drive accountability and deliver outcomes.

  • Experience producing and presenting data, risk, control or governance reporting, translating complex information into clear insights for colleagues.

It would also be useful if you had:

  • Experience with Data Quality tooling such as Attacama, Informatica, Collibra, Alation or similar platforms.

  • Experience managing Data Quality, Data Management or control issues through formal governance and remediation processes.

  • Experience working within Financial Services or another highly regulated industry.

  • Knowledge of Data Governance frameworks, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), Data Controls, Data Lineage or regulatory data requirements.

  • Understanding of risk and control frameworks, and how data-related risks are identified, assessed and mitigated.

About working for us:

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative. And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.

We’re disability confident. So, if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance-related bonus.

  • Share schemes including free shares.

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping.

  • 28 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top.

  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies.

If you’re excited by the thought of becoming part of our team, get in touch. We’d love to hear from you!

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks. We'll always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we’re building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
