Spire Harpenden Hospital is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and welcoming Outpatients Department on a full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to work within a fast-paced clinical environment supporting the delivery of high-quality evidence-based patient care and contributing to the smooth running of outpatient clinics.
Duties and responsibilities:
Working under the supervision of qualified nursing staff you will:
- Deliver high-quality care and support to patients attending outpatient clinics.
- Assist nurses and clinicians with a range of clinical and non-clinical duties.
- Undertake phlebotomy procedures confidently and safely.
- Ensure patients receive a positive experience throughout their care journey.
- Maintain a clean safe and comfortable clinical environment.
- Support the efficient flow of outpatient clinics and patient appointments.
- Adhere to infection prevention health and safety and clinical governance standards at all times.
Who were looking for:
- Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a hospital setting.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable).
- Previous experience within an outpatient or surgical environment (desirable).
- A recognised Phlebotomy qualification and proven competence in taking blood samples (essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate patient-centred approach to care.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and follow instructions accurately.
- Flexibility to work shifts across our operating hours.
Contract: 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility to be able to work any shifts rotas Monday - Saturday
Department is open from 7:30am - 9pm (Shorter opening hours on Fridays 6:30pm & Saturdays 2pm)
