Kitchen Porter - Oxford, Oxfordshire
Reports To: Head Chef / Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager
Role Purpose
At Dirty Bones, our Kitchen Porters are the backbone of the kitchen. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates safely, efficiently and to the highest cleanliness standards, allowing our chefs to deliver exceptional food and unforgettable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Cleanliness
- Maintain exceptional cleanliness throughout all kitchen areas.
- Wash and sanitise crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
- Keep all workstations, floors, walls and storage areas clean and organised.
- Carry out daily and weekly deep cleaning schedules.
- Ensure waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Food Safety, HACCP and COSHH procedures.
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene and wear correct uniform at all times.
- Report any maintenance, equipment or health and safety issues immediately.
- Ensure chemicals are stored and used safely.
Kitchen Support
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation when required.
- Receive and correctly store deliveries using FIFO stock rotation.
- Help maintain organised dry stores, refrigerators and freezers.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Prepare equipment and stations ready for service.
Teamwork
- Work closely with chefs and front of house teams to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate effectively and positively with colleagues.
- Support team members whenever required.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting with additional duties appropriate to the role.
