We support clients in embedding effective safety governance, safety risk management and assurance processes throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure and services.

By combining technical knowledge with practical experience, we help organisations improve safety outcomes, enhance performance and deliver resilient solutions. We also contribute to the development of standards, policy, guidance and innovative approaches.

Your role

  • We are seeking a consultant with experience in safety risk management and operations planning to support project delivery.
  • In this role, you will:

    • Contribute to safety risk assessment development including hazard identification and risk analysis workshops.
    • Assist in undertaking other safety reviews and analysing safety data to identify hazards and mitigation opportunities.
    • Support the development of safety documentation, reports and well-reasoned arguments.
    • Assist in the application of standards such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) GG104 and client-specific requirements.
    • Engage with clients, project teams and stakeholders on safety matters.

About you

  • Ability to produce clear written reports that give confidence that proposals are safe or need to be modified to assure safety.
  • Ability to present to senior stakeholders on the results of safety analysis.
  • Understanding of operational safety considerations for both road users and road workers.
  • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of highways.
  • Familiarity with safety related tools and methodologies such as International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), COBALT (Cost and Benefit to Accidents - Light Touch), Road Restraint Risk Assessment Process (RRRAP), Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR).
  • A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of deliverables.
