You will plan and assess learning effectively, encourage independent thinking and support students as they work towards vocational and academic qualifications. Responsibilities * Plan and deliver engaging Health & Social Care and Childhood Development lessons. * Assess, monitor and record student progress. * Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of individual students. * Deliver both theoretical and practical elements of the curriculum where appropriate. * Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. * Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. * Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers where appropriate. * Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate. Requirements * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. * Experience teaching Health & Social Care and/or Childhood Development within a secondary school or further education setting. * Strong subject knowledge and an understanding of relevant qualifications. * Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills. * Strong communication and organisational skills. * An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
