Job description
Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is looking for a part-time staff nurse to join the West Berkshire health visiting team. The role supports the health visiting service for children and families aged 0-5 within West Berkshire. Responsibilities * Work with the HV team to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), focusing on 6–8 week postnatal contacts. * Provide support to families in a range of community settings under the direction of the Health Visitor, considering the diverse needs of the community. * Plan and deliver health‑enhancing activities for children and families through groups, child health clinics, developmental review clinics and individual support. * Support families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parenting skills and programmes of care for vulnerable families. * Support breastfeeding and parent‑infant relationships in line with the Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative standards. * Support the text‑based Chat Health service, offering health advice to parents. * Maintain knowledge of local safeguarding policies and procedures. * Work in partnership with Children’s Centres, Early Years settings and other agencies to provide integrated support and promote the health and wellbeing of children and families. * Fulfil professional responsibilities within the team under the direction of the Health Visitor. * Act as a practice supervisor for pre‑registration nursing students, new staff and placement students, providing a supportive learning environment. * Participate in clinical, management and child protection supervision. * Provide evidence‑based care, support the development of others’ practice, contribute to teaching and training, and work within the staff nurse competency framework. Requirements * Must be a driver and have use of a car. * Good organisational, IT and communication skills. * High motivation and passion for the health and wellbeing of children aged 0‑5 and their families.
