Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire Salary: £95 - £130 per day (Dependent on Experience) Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term Start Date: September 2026 Supply Desk are seeking a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive school in Portsmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic HLTA who is passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential while supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school. Working closely with class teachers and the wider support team, you will lead learning activities, deliver intervention programmes and provide classroom cover when required. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking initiative, building positive relationships with pupils and contributing to a thriving school community. Key Responsibilities Deliver planned lessons and provide whole-class cover in the absence of the class teacher. Support teaching and learning across a range of year groups, adapting to the needs of the school. Lead small group and one-to-one interventions to support pupil progress. Work with pupils of varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND). Assist with planning, preparing and delivering engaging learning activities.
